West Bengal Madhyamik Result 2025: 86.57% Pass, Adrit Sarkar Tops with 99.43%
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) announced the Class 10 Madhyamik examination results on Friday morning, revealing a pass percentage of 86.57% out of 9,69,425 candidates who appeared this year.
Toppers and Rankings
- 1st Rank: Adrit Sarkar, a student of Raiganj Coronation High School in Uttar Dinajpur, secured the top position with 696 marks, scoring an outstanding 99.43%.
- 2nd Rank (Tie): Anubhav Biswas of Vivekananda Vidyamandir, Malda and Soumya Pal of Bishnupur High School, Bankura, both scored 694 marks.
- 3rd Rank: Ishani Chakraborty of Kotulpur Sarojbasini School, Bankura, with 693 marks, emerged as the top female candidate in the state.
In total, 66 students secured ranks among the top 10 positions, reflecting the competitive academic environment.
District-Wise Performance
The top-performing districts in terms of overall success rate were:
- Purba Medinipur
- Kalimpong
- Kolkata
WBBSE President Ramanuj Ganguly highlighted these districts as having the highest concentration of successful candidates in 2025.
Toppers’ Aspirations and Strategy
Speaking to the media, Adrit Sarkar shared that he studied for an average of 8–9 hours a day, balancing consistency with flexibility. “I studied whenever I felt like it,” he said. His long-term goal is to pursue medical science after completing Class 12.
Exam Timeline
The Madhyamik 2025 board exams were conducted between February 10 and February 22, covering thousands of schools across West Bengal.
