NEET PG 2025 Exam Date Announced: Two Shifts on June 15
The NEET PG 2025 exam, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), will be held on June 15, 2025. As with last year, the exam will be conducted in two shifts. Details regarding the eligibility, exam pattern, and the NEET PG marking scheme are yet to be released, but candidates can expect the information bulletin to be hosted on natboard.edu.in.
The NEET PG 2025 will follow the same format as last year, with the examination conducted in two shifts. This change, introduced in 2024, helped the NBEMS manage the large number of candidates more effectively. The NEET PG 2025 exam will follow the same structure, with candidates randomly assigned to either shift. The two shifts will help ensure that the number of candidates in each shift is approximately equal, minimizing any potential bias.
Earlier in December 2024, NBEMS announced that the internship completion date required for eligibility to appear in NEET PG 2025 will be July 31, 2025.
Each year, around two lakh MBBS graduates appear for NEET PG to secure one of the approximately 52,000 postgraduate medical seats across India. Last year, for the first time, NEET PG was conducted in two shifts. The exam was held on August 11, 2024, with the first shift running from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The NBEMS ensured that the allocation of candidates to shifts was random, reducing the possibility of bias and ensuring fairness.
Following the two-shift format, the NBEMS adopted a normalization process to prepare the results. The NEET PG results were presented as raw scores and percentiles up to seven decimal places. In case of a tie in percentiles, the age of candidates was used as a tiebreaker, with older candidates ranked higher. The overall NEET PG merit list or ranking was derived from the percentile score based on raw marks across all shifts.
Keep an eye on natboard.edu.in for the NEET PG 2025 information bulletin, where the complete details regarding the eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and marking scheme will be available soon.
