Anupam Mittal, the founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, recently ignited a debate on social media with his unconventional idea for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). In a post on X, the Shark Tank judge suggested replacing human bowlers with bowling machines. “Everything is a wide, no, 4 or 6 #IPL should just replace bowlers with bowling-machines,” he wrote, provoking varied reactions from cricket fans.
The 18th edition of the IPL, which launch on March 22, 2025, will run until May 25. The season come out with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders facing Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The tournament will feature 74 matches across various cities in India. Since its debut in 2008, the IPL has become one of the world’s biggest and most profitable sporting events, valued at $12 billion.
