Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan Reunite After 17 Years for Priyadarshan’s Edge-of-the-Seat Thriller
After a long gap of 17 years, Bollywood’s beloved duo Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are all set to reunite on the big screen in a high-octane thriller directed by renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan. The two actors, who were last seen together in the 2008 film Tashan, have given fans several memorable hits in the past—and now, they’re teaming up once again for a film that promises to be a gripping entertainer.
According to exclusive information from HT City, the untitled film will be a nail-biting thriller that keeps audiences hooked till the very end. A source close to the development revealed, “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed a great working relationship and mutual admiration. The moment they read the script, they were instantly on board.”
The film, which is expected to go on floors in August 2025, is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026. It marks yet another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, who are also working together on the upcoming horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla, currently in production. The actor-director duo, known for their impeccable comic timing in previous films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Garam Masala, are reuniting after 14 years for this new venture.
In addition, fans can look forward to another exciting project as Akshay and Priyadarshan are also joining hands for Hera Pheri 3. Speaking about the film, Akshay recently said, “Priyam sir has given all of us a fabulous surprise by offering to direct Hera Pheri 3. What a fabulous start to 2025.”
Akshay and Saif’s on-screen camaraderie has previously shined in films like Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998). Their return in a thriller format promises a refreshing twist for fans of this classic jodi.
As filming gears up to begin later this year, anticipation is already building among fans eager to see the iconic pair back in action.
