Republic Day Parade 2026: The 77th Republic Day is quickly coming, and Kartavya Path in New Delhi is getting ready for the lavish festivities. As distinguished guests, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will attend the event. India’s military might, cultural heritage, and historical legacy will all be included in the procession.
13 ministries and departments, as well as 30 tableaux representing 17 states and Union Territories, will roll along Kartavya Path this year. Vibrant cultural acts will be showcased by around 2,500 artists. The saluting dais will be passed by seven Indian Army marching contingents, including the animal contingent.
13 military bands and eighteen Army marching contingents will also participate in the procession. The Army will showcase its strategic power using a Battle Array Format for the first time. Also, during the aerial performance, 29 Armed Forces aircraft, including Rafale, Su-30, MiG-29, Apache, and C-295, will execute amazing formations.
“150 Years of Vande Mataram” is the parade’s main topic this year. “Swatantrata ka Mantra – Vande Mataram” and “Samriddhi ka Mantra Atmanirbhar Bharat” are the two main topics of the tableaux. During the grand march past, which will involve groups from the Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces, Auxiliary Civil Forces, NCC, and NSS, President Droupadi Murmu will travel to Kartavya Path in a ceremonial buggy and receive the salute.
Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab are among the states and Union Territories displaying their tableaux this year.
The tableaux will also be displayed by ministries like the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Home Affairs (NDMA-NDRF), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (CPWD), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
However, a number of significant nations and Union Territories will not be taking part in this year’s tableaux. Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Goa, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are among them.
Delhi wasn’t selected this year after being in the tableaux seven times in the previous twenty years. According to a post on Jagran.com, the Ministry of Defense’s screening committee uses a thorough procedure to choose parade participants.
To make sure that every state and Union Territory gets a chance to take part over time, a rotation strategy has also been in place for the past two years.
