Ration Card Holders Alert: Ration Supply to Stop After April 30 Without E-KYC, Complete the Process Soon
There is an important update for ration card holders across the country. If you receive food grains from government ration shops, it is crucial to complete your e-KYC before April 30, or you may lose access to subsidized ration from next month.
According to Jabalpur Collector Deepak Kumar Saxena, individuals who fail to update their e-KYC by the deadline will no longer be eligible to receive ration. He emphasized that this should be treated as a top priority, urging citizens to complete their e-KYC as soon as possible.
Why Is E-KYC Important?
The central government provides essential items such as wheat, rice, oil, and salt at highly subsidized rates to families that are economically weaker. However, to continue receiving this benefit, it’s necessary to have your ration card and Samagra ID updated. The Samagra ID includes the details of all family members and determines the quantity of ration a household is entitled to.
This step is part of the government’s initiative to eliminate fake ration cards and stop the misuse of subsidies, especially in cases where rations are being collected in the name of deceased individuals.
Deadline: 30 April 2025
The central government has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders and their family members. Those who fail to update their e-KYC by April 30, 2025, will be removed from the list of eligible beneficiaries and will not receive ration next month.
